2019 Labour Market Workshops

The economy has never been hotter and the unemployment rate has never been lower. And yet, thousands of British Columbians continue to struggle to find employment. Those with disabilities, immigrants, Indigenous Canadians, women and youth are often unemployed if not underemployed.  During this year’s ‘2019: The Labour Market Year-in-Review Workshops’, we’ll look at all of the major labour market stories from the past year, paying specific attention to new research and resources which will have a positive impact for these individuals. We will carefully examine current labour market trends, provide participants with the latest data, review recent studies and reports, and look to 2020 to examine the trends which will most benefit those facing barriers to employment. With a new federal government and an economy poised to surge on or fall back, participants will leave with a renewed understanding of the labour market and the opportunities students and job seekers can utilize to make the most of these changes.
